He is seated in the full lotus meditative posture (<i data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"291\">dhyanasana<\/i>) atop an elaborately detailed double-lotus base. His primary hands are joined at his chest in the <i data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"400\">anjali mudra<\/i> (gesture of prayer and greeting), cradling a wish-fulfilling jewel that symbolizes ultimate bodhicitta. His upper right hand holds a <i data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"546\">mala<\/i> (crystal rosary) for counting mantras, while his upper left hand holds a blooming lotus flower, representing spiritual purity and cosmic unfolding. He is heavily adorned with the magnificent ornaments of a Bodhisattva, including an intricate five-pointed crown, elegant necklaces, and a flowing sash that drapes gracefully over his torso.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">From a structural and aesthetic standpoint, the sculpture is an outstanding example of high-caliber Himalayan <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"110\">gilt-bronze casting<\/b>, rooted in centuries-old Newar craftsmanship. The entire statue glows with a highly uniform and lustrous sheen achieved through traditional <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"270\">gold-gilding<\/b>, which permanently sheets the copper-alloy core in pure 24K gold. Framing the deity is a large, almond-shaped <i data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"393\">prabhamandala<\/i> (halo) completely enveloped in deeply chased, fluidly swirling floral scrolls and foliate designs.
